Life lessons from a baby

I believe that children are our best teachers, they are always so full of energy and zest for life. To them, anything is possible and everything can be fun and interesting! Over the course of these past 8+ months of being a mum, I have learnt many valuable life lessons from my baby.

1) Love my life, live with zest, enthusiasm and passion Everyday is a fresh new day!

– baby wakes up curious and full of excitement to see what the new day holds
– From the moment she opens her eyes every morning, it’s about what new games will I discover today? Which new places can I explore? to discover new games, explore new places, try new things, gather new experiences
– can see it from the sparkle/twinkle in her eyes as she reaches for that new shiny toy (thermo flask) and hear it from her squeals of excitement as she catches something new and crawls eagerly towards it
– her energy and excitment towards simple things/actions like peek a boo never fails to amaze me and instantly lights me up
– no later how tired I am after work, seeing her smile never fails to energize me, like my hubby says she is like my mars bar!

Similarly realized that when I am happy, energetic and enthusiastic about the work I’m doing, that energy and enthusiasm can also brighten up the lives of the people around me and get others excited as well!

When I adopt the mindset that each day is a fresh new day with new experiences, new opportunities, I wake up looking forward to what the day holds. I start each day on a positive note and the rest of the day becomes much fun, enjoyable and smooth

It’s fascinating to see my baby explore her surroundings, looking around curiously at everything around her, from the cup to fan to phone as if thinking “I wonder what’s this new interesting thing! Must be fun!” That twinkle in her eyes as she reaches out excitedly for the new shiny toy before her. Those eyes speak of excitement, curiosity and possibility of the new.

Why is it that children always seem to be so happy and carefree- simply because how simple it was to live each day to the fullest,

2) Have fun learning

3) Keep trying until you get what you want

They come into the world, whole and completed, pure, perfect and fearless.
But over the years as children grow up into adults, often social norms and influences shape their values and beliefs. We develop ideas and notions of what we can or cannot do, how we should or shouldn’t behave, what is good or bad, right or wrong.. And we lose the connection with our truest self, the uninhibited, limitless self. In many ways I see them as role models and reminders for us as adults of who we were and what we could be
